China iron ore imports hit 58.31 million t in Jun.

  According to the data compiled by China's customs, Chin's steel product exports totaled 5.22 million t in June of 2012, decreasing by 10 thousand tons compared to May and while up by 21.42% year over year. At the same time, China's overall steel product exports came to 27.25 million t in January-June of 2012, up 12.1% year on year.

In June of 2012, China had imported 1.1 million t of the steel products, declining by 220 thousand tons from previous month and by 8.52% as compared to the same period of prior year. On the other hand, from January to June of this year, Chinese overall steel product imports amounted to 6.96 million t, down 13.4% year over year.

During the given month, Chinese billet imports had kept almost unchanged from previous month at 30 thousand tons. Looking at the billets imports in a first six months as a whole, Chinese billet imports had amounted to 0.19 million tons, still down 29.9% compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, Chinese coke exports came to 150 thousand t in June and the year-to-date coke exports stood at 0.58 million t, down 76.2% year over year.

In June of 2012, China's iron ore imports had registered a month-on-month decrease of 5.5335 million t and reached 58.31 million t, up 14.13% from prior year. Meanwhile, the year-to-date iron ore imports had aggregated to 366.20 million t, up 9.7% from the corresponding period of last year.
